  ★★★☆☆ So I previously had Sennheiser hd 4.50 btnc headphones. I decided I needed an upgrade because they were very uncomfortable for long periods of time.I was planning on buying the wh1000-xm4s but I saw these on sale on black Friday for like $40 more, which was a pretty small price increase, as you get the latest and greatest. Also I heard they sounded better.For starters, the design is awesome. Its really asthetic and stylish. The cover is also really nice looking and feeling.Bad:So after I paired them up and played around with them the first big problem I faced was eq, which is adjustable in the Sony app. The stock sound is pretty bad on these so eq is almost necessary. But it's just so hard to find the perfect the eq. It's like you need specific eq for specific songs. Attemps to make the sound clearer (increasing mids), ends up hurting your ears and causing ear fatigue. Trying to adjust base makes the sound muffled. Like it's been a week and I'm still not satisfied with the eq. But I think it's not only the eq that is to be blamed here.It's the overall sound of the headphones. Coming from $100 headphones to $400 headphones, I just had such high expectations from sound quality with these flagship Sony headphones. But they only sounded marginally better. They sounded inconsistent and very average for what is expected of them.Battery life on these is rated for around 30 hours, but here I am getting ONLY 11 hours on a full charge. I have the Sony app to prove it, which tells about hours listened. I don't know if it is problem with my unit, but this alone will make me return the headphones.Good:Noise cancellation on these is out of this world. So good I can't hear anything. Ambient noise mode is also pretty good.It's packed with a couple of extra features for you to play around with. Like adaptive sound etc.They are really comfortable and light weight.They look stunning.These headphones excel at everything but the basic, which is sound quality and battery life (the latter maybe specific to my model). That is the most essential thing about a headphone. My expectations for these were so high, but I am disappointed beyond measure. These headphones would be ok for around $200
